      FAQ: How long does each unit take to complete?

      The units vary in length based on the size of the book and the additional reading students will do. Plan to stagger the start of your read-aloud and book clubs.

      The curriculum will cover almost a full 180 days. To complete the full program, you almost have to start on the first day of school and go all the way to the last day of school. Most teachers are not able to get all units done their first year with the program, simply because they do not have their pacing down yet.

      ⏰ Wait to start your book club unit you have finished quadrant 1 of your read-aloud.

      This stagger will create times when the book club time sits empty. Plan to use these empty spots to run assessments, review classroom procedures, and encourage choice reading from the classroom library book boxes.
