The novels in the program were carefully selected to be appropriate for all schools, including Christian schools.
While the novels in our curriculum are secular texts, opportunities present themselves in every book to bring the Christian worldview into classroom discussion. An alignment document has been created for each of the read-aloud titles in grades 3-6 that provides ways in which teachers and students can approach a text through the lens of a believer.
Access the Biblical Principles Alignment document HERE.
The Bibilical Principles Alignment document:
- is based on the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi; the 5 principles of Godly living
- provides 2 discussion points per read aloud novel that bring in Biblical principles, allowing teachers to seamlessly include God and Christ in reading discussions
- includes questions to use with students to encourage them to approach the character and their situation from a Biblical point of view
- encourages students to make connections between characters and their own lives, focusing on how to be the hands and feet of Christ
- contains references to Bible verses and/or Bible stories
For more information about each title, look the books up on Common Sense Media.
If you have specific questions about the texts selected in our program, please contact Jen (private school representative) or Sarah (founder & public school representative)! We are happy to discuss this topic further with you and look forward to learning more about the needs of your school.
