FAQ: Is spelling explicitly taught in the program?

Spelling is not explicitly taught and tested within the program.

Students will practice word study within the daily vocabulary lesson. Students learn to break words into morphemes and infer the meanings of words. Many teachers choose to use the vocabulary words as a spelling list, or invent a spelling list from the morpheme patterns taught in the program.
